Research Associate (f-m-d) as Head of the Core Facility Plant Transformation and Genome Editing

The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Biocentre, at the earliest possible date, is seeking to fill the permanent position of a Research Associate (f-m-d) as Head of the Core Facility Plant Transformation and Genome Editing as full-time employment.
The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.
Tasks:
- Establishment, management, and organisation of the Core Facility Plant Transformation and Genome Editing at the Biocenter of the MLU
- Development and optimisation of genome editing and plant transformation methods
- Generation of transgenic and genome-edited plants in collaborative projects with MLU research groups
- Advising MLU scientists on the conception and implementation of projects on genome editing and plant transformation
- Application for, development and realization of own third-party funded projects
- Publication of research results
- Active participation in research consortia of the MLU
- Instruction of scientific and technical staff and students
- Conducting courses in graduate and postgraduate programmes
Requirements:
- Completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma) in biology or a related discipline
- Very good PhD in the field of molecular plant sciences
- Excellent knowledge of genetics, biotechnology and plant cultivation
- Excellent knowledge and several years of experience in the transformation and genome editing of plants
- Significant contribution to relevant publications
- Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds desirable
- Communicative and interactive personality
- High intrinsic motivation and ability to work in a team
- Excellent command of English and basic knowledge of German
